Vet Surgery for Cats & Dogs
At our Kent clinic, we use stringent surgical protocols and surgical techniques to offer a range of surgical procedures for cats and dogs.
During each vet surgery, anesthesia will be administered by a dedicated nurse, who continuously monitors your pet using electronic monitoring equipment. We will also provide pain management.
Following surgery, our priorities transition to pain management and post-operative monitoring. Your vet will also provide detailed instructions for your pet's at-home care.

Veterinary Surgical Procedures
Our vets at Clover Veterinary Hospital regularly perform these elective and non-elective surgeries:
- Soft Tissue Surgery
We perform surgical procedures for pets suffering from disorders in the ear, nose and throat.
These procedures are also available for skin, cardiothoracic, hepatic, oncological, urogenital and gastrointestinal disorders.
- Ocular
Is your pet experiencing redness, pain or other symptoms in or around their eyes? They may require ocular surgery.
Cataract surgery, entropion surgery, ectropion surgery, cherry eye surgery, exenteration of the orbit and eyelid tumor removal are all common ocular procedures for dogs and cats.
- Mass Removal
Sometimes, masses associated with the skin can develop in cats and dogs. These masses may also grow inside a body cavity, which can be serious or life-threatening.
If this is the case, a procedure to remove the mass may be required for your cat or dog. This is a fairly common procedure.
- Wounds
Wounds may occur when living tissue has been broken, burnt, cut, torn or otherwise damaged.
It's critical that a qualified veterinarian administer appropriate care for these wounds as soon as possible, including cleaning, disinfecting and dressing them.
- Spaying & Neutering
When a dog or cat is spayed or neutered, we surgically sterilize them to prevent disease and offer them an extended life expectancy.
- Dental Surgery
Our veterinarians routinely provide dental surgeries for dogs and cats. These procedures can range from tooth extractions to gum disease treatment and jaw fracture repairs.
The Surgery Process
We understand that you may feel intimidated at the prospect of bringing your pet in for surgery. Please be assured that we only recommend surgery when it is in the best interests of your furry companion.
We make sure that you completely understand why the surgery is being recommended, and that you are comfortable making the choice to move ahead.
Surgical protocols at our clinic include:
Pre-surgical assessments. Once the specifics of your pet's procedure are confirmed, we will complete a physical examination of the patient, and ensure that blood tests have been taken and reviewed by the vet so we can identify whether your pet faces any risk complications related to anesthesia.
Dedicated surgical suites. Surgeries are performed in our dedicated surgical suite. We keep this room completely sterile to prevent cross-contamination and infection.
Surgical attire. Disposable masks and caps are worn at all times when our staff is in the surgical suite. Those involved in your pet's procedure will also wear single-use gloves and sterile gowns.
Sterile packs and equipment. Our surgical instruments and equipment are carefully cleaned, sterilized and wrapped prior to every surgery.
